When you first enter the lagoon, the temperature will feel quite hot due to its geothermal source; however, it quickly cools down when you go underwater. Next we’ll stop by the Solinska underwater sandy beach located on the Drvenik Island. It is unquestionably the most popular beach in this area. We’ll walk down sandy beach before coming to a serene place with rocks at the shore. Take a few steps back and we’ll swim among schools of fish as well as a seagull trying to eat from your mouth. What you need To snorkel in the blue lagoon, you’ll need a bathing suit and mask. You can rent gear on site if you don’t have your own, but I recommend bringing your own to ensure that it fits well and is comfortable to wear for a long period of time. If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life, your best bet is to visit one of these 9 spectacular islands near Split, Croatia! 1) Vis Island If you’re looking for an island that’s a little less crowded but still has plenty to do, then Vis is the perfect place for you. This island has some of the best beaches in Croatia, as well as a number of restaurants and bars. Plus, there are plenty of activities to keep you busy, from hiking and biking to kayaking and snorkeling. There are also many waterfalls worth exploring during your stay on this picturesque island. If you love sandy beaches, gorgeous scenery, and plenty of ways to spend your time while exploring new places, then Zadar is the destination for you. Located just south of Split on the Croatian coast, this city is full of natural beauty – making it one of our favorite spots in Croatia! 2) Mljet Island Mljet is one of the most popular islands to visit near Split, Croatia. The island is known for its natural beauty, with forests, lakes, and plenty of coastline to explore. There are also several small villages on the island that are worth visiting. You can reach Mljet by taking a catanaran from Dubrovnik. 3) Skradin and Skradinski Buk – The Hidden Gem If you’re looking for a hidden gem near Split, look no further than Skradin and Skradinski Buk. This charming town is located just a short drive from Split, making it the perfect day trip or weekend getaway. With its cobbled streets and medieval architecture, Skradin will make you feel like you’ve stepped back in time. And Skradinski Buk, a series of waterfalls and natural pools, is the perfect place to cool off on a hot day. You can rent out kayaks and explore the many paths that weave around these beautiful waters. But beware – because there are so many different ways to explore this park, it’s easy to get lost! 4) Biševo If you’re looking for an island that’s a little off the beaten path, Biševo is the perfect spot. So if you’re looking for a truly secluded spot, Biševo is the place for you. The islands offers coves, rocky shores, and excellent fishing opportunities. Once you visit this special island in the Adriatic Sea, you’ll understand why locals say God gave us water so we could live near Biševo. 5) Drvenik Veli Drvenik Veli is one of the best islands to visit near Split, Croatia. This hidden gem is only a short boat ride away from the city, and it’s the perfect place to relax and enjoy the stunning Adriatic Sea. The island is small and quaint, with a few restaurants and cafes lining the main street. Be sure to wander down to the water’s edge to swim or sunbathe in peace. If you’re looking for some activity, head up into the hills and explore the rocky cliffs for an incredible view. 6) Kornati National Park Kornati National Park is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Croatia. The park is made up of 141 islands, and is known for its beautiful landscapes and crystal clear waters.  Visitors can enjoy in many small bays, perfect for morning swimming and snorkling. The Kornati archipelago is situated in the northern Adriatic Sea just off the coast of Šibenik County in Central Dalmatia. It consists of 141 islands (larger ones) and has been inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2008. 7) Lastovo One of the best islands to visit near Split is Lastovo. This island is well known for its stunning landscapes and crystal clear waters. Lastovo is also a great place to enjoy some of the best Croatian cuisine. The island has many small restaurants that serve traditional dishes such as škampi na buzaru (shrimp in a tomato sauce) and pašticada (beef stew). Lastovo is also home to a number of beaches where you can relax and soak up the sun. 8) Šolta Island This small island is only a 15-minute ferry ride from Split. Šolta is popular for its many secluded beaches, which are perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and relaxing. The island also has several hiking trails that offer stunning views of the Adriatic Sea. If you’re looking to escape the hustle and bustle of Split, Šolta is the perfect place to do so. One of my favorite things about this hidden gem was all of the fresh seafood restaurants I stumbled upon while exploring this little slice of paradise. Every night I would stop by one or two different restaurants to try out some new dishes like octopus salad or grilled shrimp with lemon sauce.
