Why book Zadar and Šibenik?

Zadar

Three thousand years of history are carefully preserved in the Church of St. Donatus, in the Forum, Five Wells Square, in the Rector’s and Provind’s Palaces, and in the world-unique Museum of Ancient Glass.

But what really made Zadar stand apart from other places in Dalmatia was the Sea Organ and Sun Salutation.

The Sea Organ consists of a series of metal tubes placed under the waterfront’s marble steps. The effect is best at night, when you can sit on the steps, look out to sea and listen to the waves gently crashing while the organ music plays.

The Sun Salutation is equally as inventiv. Attracts plenty of people – families, couples, teens – who all trying  to get the perfect selfie or Instagram post.

Particularly at dusk, when the sun drops below the horizon and skies blaze pink, red and orange.

Šibenik

Tt’s time to introduce you with a Šibenik with its magnificent St. James’s Cathedral in the heart of the Old Town.  The construction work was under the direction of the famous Croatian sculptor Juraj Dalmatinac.

The exterior is made of gleaming white stone and adorned with 71 lifelike looking head sculptures of men, women and children.

Explore the enchanting Old Town of Šibenik with its medieval charm and labyrinthine streets. Prepare to navigate numerous stone stairways as you wander, as Šibenik allegedly has more stairs than any other city in Croatia, even surpassing Dubrovnik.

The Fortress of St. Nicholas, located at the entrance to the St. Anthony Channel in Šibenik, is a unique example of Venetian Renaissance fortification architecture and a monument of world architectural heritage in the Mediterranean.

It is the only Venetian military fortress located exclusively on the sea.

It’s known as a gateway to the Kornati Islands.
